Y our TAG Heuer chronograph is fitted with a high-quality quartz movement, exceptionally reliable and accurate. Y our TAG Heuer requires a certain amount of care. The following guidelines will enable you to ensure its reliability and protect its appearance over time.
Be sure to rinse your watch regularly with fresh water and soap, especially after it has been in salt water. If the temperature changes suddenly, a slight condensation may appear under the crystal of your watch. This mist will disappear by itself and will not affect the functioning of the watch. If the condensation persists, please see your official TAG Heuer dealer. Pressure seals. Over time, the pressure seals on your watch may deteriorate.
We recommend that you have the water-resistance of your watch checked once a year by your TAG Heuer dealer, who will replace the seals if necessary. Certain crystals of our watches are treated with an anti-reflection coat so as to improve legibility. This extremely fine coat can become alterated because of a shock or mishandling. Under normal use, this treatment will offer every satisfaction.
For the upkeep of your metal bracelet, we recommend cleaning it with soap and water once a month. To avoid any risk of accidental opening, our steel bracelets are fastened by a double security clasp.
Y our TAG Heuer operates with a lithium battery that will last between 2 to 5 years depending on the frequency of use of the various functions especially the sound alarm and light. The unidirectional turning bezel on your T AG Heuer, with its precision ratchet, is for the measurement of dive time. The shape of the bezel is designed for easy hand rotation, even with diving gloves. For safety, the bezel can only turn counter-clockwise. If it is accidentally moved it will indicate a longer elapsed dive time.
At the start of a dive, turn the bezel so that the zero mark is in front of the minute- hand fig. The minute-hand will always show the number of minutes that have elapsed since the dive started fig. The various functions are selected by turning the crown. There are three axial positions:. In neutral position, you can select various functions by rotating the crown. The crown may be turned in both directions.
In pulled-out position, function data may be adjusted by turning the crown fig. In addition to the crown, the watch has two buttons A and B the action of which depends on the function selected. Depending on the action required, choose either:. Button A fig. Button B fig. Resetting the chronograph. Crown fig. The operations required for function adjustment are assisted by the automatic display of arrows on the dial; e.
These arrows indicate which button should be pressed, if the crown should be turned. Briefly press button A. Press button A for a sustained period. Turn the winder upwards or downwards. Briefly press button B. It is possible to set the watch to "energy-saving" mode if you do not intend to use it for several days. In this mode, power consumption is reduced to conserve energy in the battery. Select display neutral position see point 1, page 12 , then pull the crown out to position 2 fig.
Synchronisation mode is activated fig. To reactivate normal operation, simply push the crown back to position 1. The time which has elapsed since the hands stopped is automatically regained. Pressing the crown 0 briefly will light up the dial for approx. All the hands stop momentarily. The exact time is reset automatically at the end of lighting.
Attention: to save the battery, avoid pressing on the crown when it is in position 0. Return the winder to position 1 when the setting is correct fig.
Synchronising the hands and digital time. The hour shown by the hands and the digital time should be in perfect synchronisation. Any possible loss of synchronisation between the two battery change, violent impact will require the hands to be adjusted to match the digital time displayed.
Proceed as follows:. Select the neutral display position see point 1, page 12 , then pull the crown to position 2.
The letter "R" will be displayed fig. Press the B button briefly; the hour, minute and second figures are selected and will flash successively fig. The hands are successively synchronised by turning the crown.
NB: The second hand can only be adjusted in a clockwise directon crown turning upwards. Push the crown back into position 1 when the position of the three hands corresponds to the digital time displayed. This synchronisation only adjusts the time displayed by the hands to local time T1. For perfect synchronisation between analog time hands and digital time figures , first adjust the hands to the digital time displayed in synchronisation mode "R" , fig. Selecting and setting the full date fig.
The date D , month M and year are changed by rotating the crown. The day of the week is automatically selected according to the date. Press button B briefly to confirm date setting D , then confirm the month M and year fig. Select one of four languages available for the day display by pressing and holding button A. Tu rn the crown in position 2 to display the name of the day in either:. All date settings see 4. The week number display is disactivated by pressing button A briefly crown in position 1.
It will reappear after another function is selected by turning the crown. Repeat if necessary. Second time zone. In the T1 mode local time select the T2 function second time zone by briefly pressing button B and then pull the winder to position 2 fig.
The H and MIN can be changed by turning the winder. Example: if the date in the country of the local time zone is the 25th you will be able to change the date on the second time zone to either the 24th or the 26th maximum difference between two time zones: 1 day. Return the winder to position 1 after the setting has been completed.
Setting the alarm daily alarm fig. Select the alarm function AL by turning the crown and pressing and holding button A.
The letters "ON" will appear on the dial and a "beep" will be heard. To test. Press button B for a sustained period. At the chosen alarm time, a first alarm will sound. After 10 seconds, the alarm will sound intermittently for 50 seconds and then stop automatically.
The alarm may be stopped at any moment by pressing either of the buttons.
