Financial capital is any economic resource measured in terms of money used by entrepreneurs and businesses to buy what they need to make their products or to provide their services to the sector of the economy upon which their operation is based, i. Real capital or economic capital comprises physical goods that assist in the production of other goods and services, e. Financial capital generally refers to saved-up financial wealth , especially that used to start or maintain a business. A financial concept of capital is adopted by most entities in preparing their financial reports. Under a financial concept of capital, such as invested money or invested purchasing power, capital is synonymous with the net assets or equity of the entity. Under a physical concept of capital, such as operating capability, capital is regarded as the productive capacity of the entity based on, for example, units of output per day.

About Rudolf Hilferding. Rudolf Hilferding. Marxist economist, leading socialist theorist, politician and chief theoretician for the Social Democratic Party of Germany SPD during the Weimar Republic, almost universally recognized as the SPD's foremost theoretician of his century, and a physician.
He was born in Vienna, where he received a doctorate having studied medicine. After becoming a leading journalist for the SPD, he participated in Marxist economist, leading socialist theorist, politician and chief theoretician for the Social Democratic Party of Germany SPD during the Weimar Republic, almost universally recognized as the SPD's foremost theoretician of his century, and a physician.
After becoming a leading journalist for the SPD, he participated in the November Revolution in Germany and was Finance Minister of Germany in and from to In he fled into exile, living in Zurich and then Paris, where he died in custody of the Gestapo in Hilferding was a propounder for the "economic" reading of Karl Marx identifying with the "Austro-Marxian" group.
He was the first to put forward the theory of organized capitalism. Hilferding also participated in the "Crises Debate" — disputing Marx's theory of the instability and eventual breakdown of capitalism on the basis that the concentration of capital is actually stabilizing. His most famous work was Das Finanzkapital Finance capital , one of the most influential and original contributions to Marxist economics with substantial influence on Marxist writers such as Vladimir Lenin, influencing his writings on imperialism.

The theories of contemporary imperialism: a critical interpretation. Marxist theory, through imperialism, has an analytical framework for the interpretation of contemporary capitalism. Currently, various aspects of the Marxist camp and those who identify themselves as such use imperialism in their analysis, either through the term neo-imperialism, new-imperialism, late imperialism, Empire, globalization, neoliberalism, or simply imperialism. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyze the Marxist interpretations of contemporary imperialism and answer the question: is there one contemporary theory of imperialism?

We have witnessed a transformation in the nature of financial capital, whose principal features form the central focus of our paper. The cumulative effects of these developments threaten the stability of our economic system, and therefore need to be redirected by coordinated police action.
