In this study, a new tetraimine Schiff base T 1 was obtained by the synthesis of diimine Schiff base D 1 , the reduction of nitro group of this Schiff base to amino group and the reacting of amino group with 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde, respectively. It was characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. The phenol-keto tautomerism of Schiff base T 1 was investigated by UV—vis spectra in different solvents and media. The binding interaction between T 1 and metal ions, i.

An approximate isotropic treatment of cell esds is used for estimating esds involving l. Issue contents. Article statistics. Download PDF of article. Acta Cryst. Structural and optical profile of a multifunctionalized 2-pyridone derivative in a crystal engineering perspective. Joy , E. Anabha , S. Gopi , B. Mathew , A. Kumar S and A. A Hirshfeld surface analysis followed by a two-dimensional fingerprint plot analysis was carried out. The optical properties of the 2-pyridone derivative were elucidated through UV—Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy, indicating a strong blue emissive nature with a colour purity of Time-dependent density functional theory TD-DFT was used to gain some insight into the absorption behaviour and emissive characteristics of P1.

The Neuroprotective Effects of Thymoquinone: A Review

Preparation of propylene carbonate catalyzed by ionic liquid. Efficient synthesis of new 3-aminocyanothiophene derivatives. Salwa E. El-Meligie , Nadia A. Khalil , Hala B. El-Nassan , and Ahmed A.

Thymoquinone TQ , one of the main components active of Nigella sativa , exhibited very useful biomedical effects such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, anticancer, hypoglycemic, antihypertensive, and antiasthmatic effects. There are several studies about pharmacological activities of TQ but its neuroprotection effects are not fully described. The literature search has indicated many studies pertaining to the effects of TQ in neurological problems such as epilepsy, parkinsonism, anxiety, and improvement of learning and memory, and so on. In addition, TQ protected brain cells from various injuries due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and apoptotic effects in cell line and experimental animal models. The present study has been designed to review the scientific literature about the pharmacological activities of TQ to the neurological diseases. This study purposed that although experimental studies indicated the beneficial effects of TQ against nervous system problems, better designed clinical trials in humans are needed to confirm these effects.
