That we could vanish into the world of the books, talk to the characters and live their lifes. In Inkheart this gets true. Maggie's father has the ability to let the characters become real when he reads out loud. But the rule is that somebody also has to vanish into the world of the book.
That happened to Maggie's mother. If you love books, you will love this book. I mean the quotes. There are so many nice quotes about boo The most beautiful story for all book lovers.

Everything about this book is perfect. I could read it again and again. They are all so big that I can't remember what exactly happened and so it is exciting everytime. And no, it is not only for children. It is for everybody who loves books and great stories Jan 31, Anne rated it it was amazing. Jul 13, Melies Buchlounge rated it really liked it.
Feb 02, Peter rated it it was amazing. I have once been under the impression that Cornelia Funke's book "Inkheart" is to be considered a children's book. Most books that fall into this category usually do not come within my personal radar range.
However, after coincidentally talking to a colleague about this book I made up my mind about reading it, and I am glad to say I have not been disappointed. In short, if this is the typical children's book that is to be gotten out there I damn well want to be a child! It is a book about books and the love of people towards books and reading. More than a few times incindents taking place inside the book have made me smile from ear to ear simply because as a book lover I could relate so much.
The story itself is engaging and in parts quite mysterious and the character types are varied enough yet not too deep to make this a pleasant, light-hearted read I guess that could be where the children's book factor comes in??
Some things about the plot and where it will go to can become too obvious as you keep reading but that did not at all deteriorate from my enjoyment of the book. It is a light and heart-warming book about books, obviously written from a books lover for other books lovers - I can recommend it whole-heartedly. Aug 11, Kevin rated it it was ok. As much as I wanted to be drawn into the fantasy of Tintenhertz's world, where words become realities and this special kind of 'reading' is considered a powerful art, I found myself muttering about the repetitive and often sluggish pace of the plot's development.
Sadly, this is probably attributable to my own lack of imagination, as Funke does not bother much with expanding details. In fact, I can see perfectly well how I would have truly enjoyed this book as a younger child; there is a crafted As much as I wanted to be drawn into the fantasy of Tintenhertz's world, where words become realities and this special kind of 'reading' is considered a powerful art, I found myself muttering about the repetitive and often sluggish pace of the plot's development.
In fact, I can see perfectly well how I would have truly enjoyed this book as a younger child; there is a crafted balance between the enigmatic art of Meggie's father and company, and the otherwise relatable and insignificant settings. However, I just wasn't able to convince myself to keep on with Tintenherz, as other books began to crowd my desk at school.
Time to return this one to its rightful owners and try again with something new! May 04, Abby Scuito rated it it was amazing. Auf jeden Fall empfehlsenwert! Jun 03, Sue rated it really liked it. Selten hat mich ein Buch so sehr gefangengenommen wie "Tintenherz.
Am meisten imponiert mir Funke's Wortgewandtheit. Mar 18, Rika rated it liked it. This book is typical fairy tale world, do not beat around the bush and not boring enough.
The part that I am still confused is when there is a new character wife Mo into the story. Jul 27, Judith rated it it was amazing. Nov 20, Jennifer rated it it was amazing Shelves: shelf-of-dreaming. Ich weiss gar nicht wie oft ich dieses Buch schon verschlungen habe, doch es fasziniert mich immer wieder. Tintenherz ist eindeutig das beste Buch der Tintentriologie.
Apr 08, Izzatur Rahmaniyah rated it it was amazing. Sometimes, I wonder how does it feel when I meet my own imaginary characters in real life? I finally knew what it felt like after I finished reading this wonderful novel.
The story inspired me a lot. I hope I can continue reading two other books of Inkworld :. Aug 15, nks rated it it was ok Shelves: books-i-own. Really nice story, but a little slow for my taste. But I do love a story about how reading can be an adventure, dangerous, unpredictable.
Aug 03, Beccy added it. Ein wirklich gutes Buch, sehr spannend. Erster Teil einer dreiteiligen Buchreihe, die aber gut in sich abgeschlossen ist. Apr 11, Lizzy rated it liked it. It was neat to read it in its original form. Lovely story.
